If you’ve followed all of these steps and you still can’t sleep, then get up. Don’t lie there willing it to happen, because it probably won’t and you’ll just be adding to your stress bucket. Get up and read a book for 20 minutes, then try again.
A NOTE ON THE WORKOUTS FOR THIS WEEK
As well as the long-term goals I set for myself, I like to set myself up with some weekly goals. These could be as simple as making sure I do push-ups every day and logging my workout times so I can reassess them later when I’m feeling superhuman (in about 8 weeks’ time). Do whatever works for you to help you feel both energised and motivated to stay on track.
